Now is the Time,
Kerby's is the Place

October 13, 2016

Minervo and Joey loading a truck for the photo shoot.

A breezy, cloudy day caused by a hurricane. What to do? What to do? I know, let's have a photo shoot. If anyone drove past Kerby's last Friday, you may have seen a bunch of brand-new Isuzu trucks in the parking lot. Isuzu used Kerby's as a location to shoot photos and video for commercials and other promotional material. Minervo and I even got to be in a few of their shots. I don't think we need to run out and find agents, but it was a fun way to spend a slow Friday at the nursery.

While the weather wasn't bad on our coast, many on the east coast and other areas are dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew. Friends of ours own Rockledge Gardens, and they reported no major damage, but no power and lots of debris. Another garden center in Vero Beach was under two feet of water. We were definitely lucky on our side of the state that the effects of the hurricane were minimal.

Decorate your front porch for Fall!
And as Hurricane Matthew left our area, the first shot of cool weather made its way into the state. Monday morning (and all day for that matter) felt amazing. After a long, hot summer, it's nice to not sweat for a little bit. So what are you waiting for? It's fall and it's time for fun in the garden. The pumpkin patch is open with all sorts of cool pumpkins. The butterfly house is filled with beautiful butterflies, and fresh fall flowers are arriving every day at Kerby's. It's the perfect time to get outside and have some fun in the garden.

Happy Gardening,

Geraniums

Throughout the summer, we are asked for geraniums and always feel bad having to tell people that geraniums just don't like our heat and humidity. Well summer is over and the geraniums are back. They come in lots of bright colors and are great throughout the cool season for brightening sunny areas of your garden. We also have beautiful ivy geranium baskets to dress up those empty hooks on your porches and patios. Let the fall fun begin!
