May is coming to a close, but what a beautiful month it has been. This past weekend, the humidity was lower than usual and it made the mornings delightful and even the warm afternoons didn't feel so bad. But living in Florida, you know the heat is coming. Check out some of Kerby's favorite tough for Florida plants that will make your landscape beautiful and tough enough to handle the summer season.

Blue Plumbago Plumbago auriculata This is a tried and true shrub that has beautiful blue flowers all summer long. It's tough, it's easy and it tolerates any kind of soil. It grows on average 4 to 6 feet tall, so give it a little space and make sure it has plenty of sun. It is also the host plant for the cassius blue butterfly. Butterflies, color flowers and low maintenance. Sounds like a winning combination.
