Now is the Time,
Kerby's is the Place

May 30, 2013

Tough plants make a great foundation for a landscape.

May is coming to a close, but what a beautiful month it has been. This past weekend, the humidity was lower than usual and it made the mornings delightful and even the warm afternoons didn't feel so bad. But living in Florida, you know the heat is coming. Check out some of Kerby's favorite tough for Florida plants that will make your landscape beautiful and tough enough to handle the summer season.

Pottery and statues are on sale for 20% off. Sale ends soon, so don't miss out.
With all of the cool tropical plants that came in last week, the Kerby's staff put together some tropical displays and we want you to vote on the winner. Click here to see pictures of the displays and to vote. The pictures don't do the displays justice so come in to see them for yourself. They'll give you great ideas for making your landscape a tropical paradise.

Blue Plumbago
Plumbago auriculata

This is a tried and true shrub that has beautiful blue flowers all summer long. It's tough, it's easy and it tolerates any kind of soil. It grows on average 4 to 6 feet tall, so give it a little space and make sure it has plenty of sun. It is also the host plant for the cassius blue butterfly. Butterflies, color flowers and low maintenance. Sounds like a winning combination.
