Abby loves to cook! |
One of Abby's favorite things to do is to cook. Since
Kim and I love to cook as well, it's not a huge surprise, but she, like,
really, really loves it. Sometimes she'll tell me "Daddy, I wish I could just cook
all the time." So we decided to have a little fun in the kitchen recently,
with a burger that crossed my facebook feed from
The Refinery. If
you've never eaten there, you should. Awesome food, great service and a
great atmosphere. So get ready for the ingredients: homemade thousand island
dressing, peanut butter, toasted marshmallow fluff
and fried shoestring potatoes.

Our copy-cat burger. |
I'm not kidding, that's what was on the hamburger. So Abby helped me prep
the ingredients, and we put together our own version of this wild hamburger.
It was delicious. Although the ingredients seemed like they might clash,
they actually came together really well for ooey-gooey tastiness in each
bite. Although now I feel like I've set the bar a little high for what Abby
expects us to cook in the kitchen. Ketchup and mustard just won't cut it.
But the kitchen can be just like the garden. You've got to get in and get
your hands dirty, and have a little fun trying something new. So enjoy this
beautiful December weather, take a risk, and do something fun, whether it is
in the kitchen or the garden.
