A Budding Ad Writer
Listen by Joey Bokor ![]()
I've had a few instances in
this newsletter to highlight Maddy's writing skills. You may
remember The Flower Book from earlier in the year. Lately, she has become
an even more voracious writer. About half the time when I go to print something in my office, I get an error
because the printer is out of paper from Madeleine working piece by piece through the entire
tray.
Her writing is varied. Sometimes it's poetry, sometimes it's prose.
This week, she tried her hand at
something new: advertising. I found a piece of paper on my desk and I quickly glanced at it to see what
kind of writing mood she was in that day. At first, I thought she had just written a little bit about
gardening and plants. Then when I looked closer, I realized that she had written a radio ad, complete with
parts for both her and Abby and the tagline that we use in our Kerby's radio ads.

I had the girls record the ad just as it was written:
listen here.
I think for
a six-year-old, she did great writing. I definitely know who is in line to take over the
marketing department at Kerby's someday. And while we don't have any open positions in the marketing
department, we do currently have open positions for Sales Support Staff
and Cashiers.
If you love plants, flowers, getting your hands in the dirt and helping make people's gardens beautiful,

With the Christmas season in full swing, we know you are puzzling over the people on your shopping list.
If there is a gardener on your list, or maybe some you would label as a
'Crazy Plant Person', then you've got to come check out our new
shipment of house
plants. If you happen to be the Crazy Plant Person and you are looking for a little extra help taking care of
your house plants, then come out this Saturday at 10am for the House Plants Seminar. And below, since
we know you love your pets just as much as your plants, is some information about pet-friendly house plants
or as we like to say Willow Approved.
Maddy
told us in her radio ad, 'Let's get started. Let's grow.' There
couldn't be a better time. We hope you continue to have an
amazing Christmas season filled with the magic of family, friends and of course plants.
