Lights in the shadehouse create
the perfect place to unwind.

After a rainy start to the week, some delightful cool temperatures are finally here. It's beautiful weather for freshening your garden with colorful violas or sweet-smelling alyssum. And it is also the perfect weather for the 3rd Annual Winter Open House. The shade house is decorated for Christmas and ready to shine this coming Friday evening. Escape the hustle and bustle of work, and join us for an evening of relaxation and refreshment. We hope to see you at the nursery this Friday evening from 5 to 7.

Great Gardening Gifts

Everyone has a gardener in their lives, someone whose passion is getting their hands dirty and creating beauty with flowers and foliage. So we've compiled a list of the best gardening gifts for your favorite gardener or maybe as a special treat for yourself this season.

1. An Edible Arrangement - Help someone get their herb or vegetable garden started with an assortment of their favorite edibles. Create a themed basket such as a "Pizza Basket", with oregano, basil, tomatoes and peppers.

2. Fruit Trees - Your dad has always wanted his own fruit orchard, so get him started with a mango, avocado or citrus tree. Or if he is adventurous, try a jaboticaba, grumichama or black sapote.

3. Pottery - can double as a gift bag. Add a pair of gloves and a trowel, and a simple gardening gift is made.

4. Butterfly Kit - Help someone start their own butterfly garden with the plants that will attract butterflies this spring.

5. Statuary - Turtles, cats and dogs , oh my! A statue adds a unique touch to a garden. With cute animals or beautiful cherubs, there is something for everyone.

6. If you still can't find the perfect present, give the gift that gets better next spring, a Kerby's gift card.
